THE SUN SHINES AGAIN AFTER HURRICANE HARVEY SLAMS TEXAS, DEADLY HOUSTON FLOODING

According to ABC NEWS, "the sun made an appearance on Tuesday in Houston after days of Torrential rain caused record flooding in the area."

Many residents are ecstatic about a peek of sunlight after the devastation of darkness and flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey landed in South Eastern Texas late Friday and has already dropped more than 21 trillion gallons of rain according to NBC News.

In addition to damage from the massive amount of rain fall, many people have lost their homes and some have even lost their lives. According to ABC News, 11 people are confirmed dead, one being a police officer, who drowned on his way to work, and 30 to 40,000 people are without a place to live.

Yet, despite the devastation, many Southeastern Texas residents are putting aside their losses and pain and are focusing on reaching out to help each other. Local police, fireman, FEMA staff and citizens alike have answered the call of "helping their fellow man."

However, stories are flooding in of families who've been displaced. Sources reveal that shelters are over crowded and refugees are experiencing "clogged toilets and soggy family photos."

One story made headlines of a little girl suffering from hypothermia as she clung to the body of her dead mother. These incredible people have weathered the storm. They were all happy to see that the sun shines again after Hurrican Harvey took its toll, with deadly flooding, on Houston and other Southeastern parts of Texas.

CBS News reveals that "Hurricane Harvey" will continue to cause widespread damage across southeastern Texas as floodwaters are expected to rise for several more days. Officials say they expect 450,000 people to register as disaster victims with the federal government."
